Birth of “Social T-Rex”

I always get the question, “How did you get the moniker, ”Social T-Rex?”  Interesting story and little did I know the name would come at the hands of a group of people under the age of 6!  Here is the story;

I spent many months trying to come up with a catchy name for this blog, one that would be memorable, yet not to wacky or too plain.  I posted to Facebook, tweeted and requested ideas from friends, families and connections.  Then it happened!

One night I was putting my son down for the evening. As we were digging through his pj drawer, seeking the perfect sleep wear, he settled on the ones with a cartoonish T-Rex on them.  I asked him “what does a T-Rex say” and in a small, first word type of voice he says “rawrrrrrrr”.  Of course the whole search for a blog name was still fresh on my mind, but it did not click just yet.

Now it was time to put his older sisters to sleep and like every other night, a bedtime story was required.    I always tell them original stories, would tonight be about spies, martians or one of my many “real life, childhood stories”?  With story time complete, it was time to blog!  Then it hit me!

The Social T-Rex was born! I give credit to the creative juices my children revitalized in my adult mind that was used for “thinking” versus creating!  Their ability and insistence on creating original stories prior to bedtime, forced me to BE CREATIVE. Thus began the era of Social T-Rex!
